Using organic ingredients is highly recommended
whenever possible. Prices do tend to be higher
however but the fact that they are free of harmful pesticides, chemicals, synthetic ingredients ,
fillers and toxins is worth paying a bit extra for.
You could always make your own rosewater
(instructions on how to make rosewater below)
and grow your own lemons if lucky enough to have the climatic conditions.
Ingredients:
Equal quantities ofRosewater (bought for the shop )Lemon Juice
You Will Need:
BowlSterile Glass Bottle or Plastic Bottle4-5 Cotton Wool Balls or Hospital Cotton Wool (cut into squares)
Method:
Measure equal quantities of rosewater and lemon juice and add to bowl. ¼ cup of each is what I used.Mix together; your face wash is ready! How easy is that?
To Apply:
- There are a couple of ways to use this.
- Whilst it is a face wash, it is not ideal as a make up remover so remove make up with your regular cleanser or why not try a home made apple cleanser or use Olive Oil for stubborn eye make up remover.
- Slightly dampen your cotton wool balls or squares in water and squeeze excess water out in-between the palms of the hands. This cuts down the rough texture of the cotton wool and prevents dragging the skin.
- Dampen the skin with tepid water to open the pores.
- Pour a small amount of face wash onto the cotton wool and wipe all over the face starting at the base of the neck and working upwards.
- This face wash is soothing, rejuvenating and refreshing whilst taking away the last traces of make up or cleanser.
- Alternately you can apply the face wash liberally and leave for 15 minutes to dry in.
- Splash with tepid water to remove face wash and finish with a splash of cold water to close the pores.
- Apply your regular moisturiser.
Tips:
It is great at diminishing large open pores when used daily.Although this is a face wash, it may be used as a skin toner daily or use the rosewater alone as a toner after cleansing if you find the lemon juice too astringent
